Daily vs unlimited mode

One shared daily round versus seeded unlimited shuffles — what each mode in Krillion Unlimited is for, and when to play it.

The daily round is the shared score

The daily round is the game’s comparable unit: five prompts chosen by UTC date, identical for everyone who plays that day, in the same order, scorable once. Finish it and the round locks until the next midnight UTC, your result and streak living in this browser. That shared-ness is the point — it is the score you can compare with a friend or with your own history, because nobody got a friendlier draw. The streak counts consecutive days finished, not points scored, so the daily rewards showing up as much as brilliance. If you only play one mode, this is the one: it is the part of Krillion Unlimited that is a daily game rather than a practice tool.

Unlimited is a seeded shuffle

Unlimited mode draws from the same 60-prompt list but shuffles it fresh: five or eight prompts a round, or four inside a single themed pack. Each round gets a seed, and the seed sits in the address bar — reload the URL and you get the same set, which means you can send the link to someone and directly compare scores on an identical shuffle. That makes unlimited a different kind of thing than the daily: not a shared puzzle, but an endless supply of the same game. There is no streak attached, no once-a-day lock, and nothing stored except the seed in the URL. It is repetition by design — the place where the eighteen seconds stop being scarce.

When to play which

Play the daily first — it is once per date, it feeds the streak, and it is the score that means anything comparatively. Then use unlimited for the work the daily cannot do: practicing the recall method, learning where your answers land on the tiers, or warming up before tomorrow. Packs are the short version — four prompts inside one theme, good when you want repetition in a single weak spot like geography or the kitchen list. The archive sits between the two: past daily sets replayed exactly, for catching up on a missed day without touching the streak. The split is deliberate. The daily is scarce so the score stays meaningful; unlimited is abundant so the skill can grow.
